Catherine Taber was another voice actor from Star Wars: The Clone Wars that I met at the 2010 Anaheim Comic-Con. She was sitting at the same row of tables with Phil LaMarr and Jennifer Hale. She is a very prolific voice actress, lending her voice talent to many characters, including Padmé Amidala and the Betty Droids in The Clone Wars.
Catherine also did acting and voice-over work on over 35 film, TV, and video game projects, some of which include Beverly Hills 90210, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, X-Men Legends 2, Final Fantasy XII, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed I and II, Avatar: The Game, and currently Star Wars: The Old Republic.
I had my Clone Wars poster already rolled out during the time and moved up to Catherine’s section of the table after getting my autograph from Phil LaMarr. She had a variety of 8×10′s and other screenshots of her characters, and also a custom-made poster/flyer (similar to Jennifer Hale’s and Phil LaMarr’s) with all of her popular animated characters on it. I gave her my poster, she looked at it and frowned, joking stating, “Well, I’m not on this, but I’ll sign over Anakin.”
I couldn’t help noticing that she did have a close resemblance, and a similar voice, to Natalie Portman. She talked a bit about Padmé and how she was staying true to Natalie’s performance in the films, while dding her own. I thanked her for taking her time to talk to me (the line behind me was growing), rolled up my poster and went on to meet other celebrities.
Catherine Taber is also one of the contributing celebrities who signed the Clone helmets to benefit the Princess Leah Charity Auction, the auction of the Clone Trooper and the Republic Commando helmets is running till December 5.
