Auction Watch: Ultimate Star Wars Action Figure Collection of 1,950 Figures Ends at $11,500.00

An incredible 10-day auction for one of the most complete loose 3.75″ Star Wars action figure collections in the world ended at a staggering $11,500.00 on December 9, 2012 with 53 bids and 38 bidders.

The auction for 1,950 loose action figures (donated by one-time ILM model maker Fon Davis of FonCo Creative Services) used in the book, Star Wars: The Ultimate Action Figure Collection by authors Stephen J. Sansweet, Anne Neumann, Dan Curto and Paul Harrison, included every figure from the 1978-85 series, the Ewoks and Droids animated series collections, and almost every figure released to early 2011 including retail exclusives.

100% of the final $11,500.00 is going towards Rancho Obi-Wan, Steve Sansweet’s Star Wars museum and non-profit organization whose specific purpose is to serve the public through the collection, conservation, exhibition and interpretation of Star Wars memorabilia and artifacts, using this collection to provide meaningful educational, aesthetic, intellectual and cultural experiences for a wide array of audiences and to carry on other charitable and educational activities associated with this goal.

I recently ordered the Star Wars: The Ultimate Action Figure Collection book, and a book plate autographed by all four authors.
